## Abstract

Various embodiments of a mesh or implant system are provided. In certain embodiments, a tissue fixation device is included. The tissue fixation device can include an eyelet structure having an opening and one or more teeth adapted to grasp tissue to secure the implant in place.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating a pelvic condition in a patient, comprising:
providing an implant including one or more tissue engageable eyelets having a plurality of tissue engagement members;
introducing the implant into a pelvic region of the patient;
positioning the implant to support pelvic tissue of the patient; and
passing pelvic tissue through the one or more tissue engageable eyelets in a first engagement direction such that the pelvic tissue is generally restricted from moving out of the one or more tissue engageable eyelets in a second direction generally opposite to the first engagement direction.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein providing the implant includes providing the implant constructed at least in part of a mesh material.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the mesh material is constructed of a polymer material.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the tissue engagement members include a plurality of teeth members extending inward.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein the one or more tissue engageable eyelets include a top surface such that the plurality of teeth members extend out a distance above the top surface.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more tissue engageable eyelets include a flexible central portion including the plurality of tissue engagement members.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein the flexible central portion includes a jagged slit defining the plurality of tissue engagement members.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the flexible central portion is constructed at least in part of a flexible polymer material.

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein the tissue engagement members of the flexible central portion are in a generally planar state during deployment of the implant and extend away from the flexible portion in the first engagement direction to capture the pelvic tissue in the jagged slit.

### Claim 10

A method of treating a pelvic condition in a patient, comprising:
providing an implant including one or more tissue engageable eyelets having a plurality of angled tissue engagement members;
introducing the implant into a pelvic region of the patient;
positioning the implant to support pelvic tissue of the patient; and
directing pelvic tissue through the one or more tissue engageable eyelets in a first engagement direction such that the pelvic tissue will become captured by the plurality of tissue engagement members.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein providing the implant includes providing the implant constructed at least in part of a polymer mesh material.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein the plurality of tissue engagement members extend inward.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method of claim 12, wherein the one or more tissue engageable eyelets include a top surface such that the plurality of tissue engagement members extend out a distance above the top surface.

### Claim 14

A pelvic implant device, comprising:
an elongate implant including one or more tissue engagement eyelets having a plurality of tissue engagement members to capture pelvic tissue therebetween in a first engagement direction.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The device of claim 14, wherein the elongate implant is constructed at least in part of a polymer mesh material.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

The device of claim 14, wherein the one or more tissue engagement eyelets are molded to the implant.

### Claim 17 (depends on 14)

The device of claim 14, wherein the tissue engagement members include a plurality of teeth members angling inward.

### Claim 18 (depends on 14)

The device of claim 14, wherein the one or more tissue engagement eyelets include a flexible central portion including the plurality of tissue engagement members.

### Claim 19 (depends on 18)

The device of claim 18, wherein the flexible central portion includes a jagged slit defining the plurality of tissue engagement members.

### Claim 20 (depends on 18)

The device of claim 18, wherein the flexible central portion is constructed at least in part of a flexible polymer material.
