## Abstract

The invention provides a blocking ligand specific for CTLA-4 and a vascular targeting ligand/IL-2 complex, for sequential use in inhibiting the growth of tumour cell

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for inhibiting the growth of a tumour cell comprising contacting said cell with a ligand specific for CTLA-4 and a vascular targeting ligand/IL-2 complex.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1, wherein the ligand specific for CTLA-4 is selected from an antibody, a peptide and a nucleic acid aptamer specific for CTLA-4.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

A method according to claim 2, wherein the ligand specific for CTLA-4 is a nucleic acid aptamer specific for CTLA-4.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

A method according to claim 3, wherein the mutant aptamer is an RNA aptamer.

### Claim 5 (depends on 2)

A method according to claim 2, wherein the ligand specific for CTLA-4 is an anti-CTLA-4 antibody.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

A method according to claim 5, wherein the antibody is a scFv.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1, wherein the vascular targeting ligand is selected from an antibody and a peptide specific for a vascular marker.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

A method according to claim 7, wherein the vascular targeting ligand is an antibody.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

A method according to claim 8, wherein the vascular targeting ligand is specific for the alternatively spliced extradomain B of fibronectin, domain A1 of tenascin C, or extradomain A of fibronectin.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1, wherein the ligand specific for CTLA-4 is administered before the vascular targeting ligand/IL-2 complex.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

A method according to claim 10, wherein the tumour cells are part of a solid tumour, and treatment results in reduction in tumour size.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

A method according to claim 11, wherein the ligand specific for CTLA-4 is administered one day before the vascular targeting ligand/IL-2 complex.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)

A method according to claim 10, wherein the administration of both the ligand specific for CTLA-4 and the vascular targeting ligand/IL-2 complex is repeated.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

A method according to claim 13, wherein the repeat administrations occur four days apart.

### Claim 15

(canceled)

### Claim 16 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1, wherein contacting said cell with a ligand specific for CTLA-4 and a vascular targeting ligand/IL-2 complex is performed sequentially.
