## Abstract

The invention relates to a jet spouted bed reactor, comprising a cylindrical area, a gas injection pipe at the base of the cylindrical area, and a transition area, connecting the upper end of the pipe to the base of the cylindrical area, this transition area having a convex profile in a plane extending through the axis (YY′) of flow of a fluid in the pipe.

## Claims

### Claim 1

Jet spouted bed reactor, comprising a cylindrical area, a gas injection pipe at the base of the cylindrical area, and a transition area, connecting the upper end of the pipe to the base of the cylindrical area, this transition area having a convex, or predominantly convex, profile in a plane extending through the axis (YY′) of flow of a fluid in the pipe.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

Jet spouted bed reactor according to claim 1, in which the angle β between the axis of flow of a fluid in the pipe and the tangent to the convex, or predominantly convex, profile at the point where it joins the pipe is at least equal to 5°, and, preferably, less than 45°.

### Claim 3

Jet spouted bed reactor according to the preceding claim, the angle β being at least equal to 10°, and, preferably, less than 35°.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

Jet spouted bed reactor according to claim 1, the convex or predominantly convex profile having a point of inflexion, and the angle θ1 between, on the one hand, an axis perpendicular to the direction of flow of a fluid and extending through the base of the cylindrical part and, on the other hand, the tangent to the point of inflexion I of the convex profile, being greater than 10°.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

Jet spouted bed reactor according to claim 1, wherein the angle θ2 between, on the one hand, an axis perpendicular to the direction of flow of a fluid and extending through the base of the cylindrical part and, on the other hand, a straight line extending through the end of the gas injection pipe and through the base of the cylindrical part, is less than 90°.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

Jet spouted bed reactor according to claim 1, wherein the distance (h1) between the end of the gas injection pipe and the base of the cylindrical section of the reactor is greater than 1/10 of the radius of the bed in this cylindrical section.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

Jet spouted bed reactor according to claim 1, wherein the convex or predominantly convex profile is defined by a succession of N (N≧2) straight line segments.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

Method of deposition on particles, comprising:
the introduction of said particles into a jet spouted bed reactor according to claim 1,
the introduction, via the gas injection pipe, of a gas transporting a precursor of the deposition to be carried out on said particles.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

Method according to claim 8, wherein r1, the radius of the injection pipe, is comprised between 5 D (D=diameter of the particles) and ⅕ r2, where r2 is the radius of the bed in the cylindrical section.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

Method according to claim 8, the convex profile having a point of inflexion, and the angle θ1 between, on the one hand, an axis perpendicular to the direction of flow of a fluid and extending through the base of the cylindrical part and, on the other hand, the tangent to the point of inflexion I of the convex, or predominantly convex, profile being greater than the angle of spontaneous flow of the powder constituting the bed to be mixed on an inclined plane.

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

Method according to claim 8, the angle θ2 between, on the one hand, an axis perpendicular to the direction of flow of a fluid and extending through the base of the cylindrical part and, on the other hand, a straight line extending through the end of the gas injection pipe and through the base of the cylindrical part, being greater than the angle of spontaneous flow of the powder constituting the bed to be mixed on an inclined plane.

### Claim 12 (depends on 8)
