## Abstract

Disclosed are methods of treating a subject suffering from a cutaneous wound comprising administering to the subject a CIRP inhibitor.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating a subject suffering from a cutaneous wound, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a CIRP inhibitor.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the cutaneous wound is a chronic cutaneous wound.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the cutaneous wound is a diabetic ulcer.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the cutaneous wound is a bed sore.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the CIRP inhibitor is an antibody or a functional fragment thereof that specifically binds to CIRP, wherein said antibody inhibits one or more biological activities of CIRP.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the antibody is a polyclonal antibody.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the antibody is a chimeric antibody, humanized antibody or human antibody.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the antibody is a single chain antibody.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the CIRP inhibitor is a CIRP antisense molecule that reduces expression of CIRP.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the CIRP inhibitor has molecular weight less than 1000 Daltons.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the CIRP inhibitor is a peptide that specifically binds to CIRP and inhibits one or more biological activities of CIRP.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method of claim 12, wherein the peptide is a CIRP-derived peptide.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the CIRP-derived peptide is an antigenic fragment of CIRP.
