## Abstract

Embodiments of the invention provide a method, system and computer program product for real-time analytics driven decisioning of edge devices in a WSN. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for real-time analytics driven decisioning of edge devices in a WSN is provided. The method includes establishing a communicative connection by a controller with sensors in a geographically proximate WSN and aggregating data received from the sensors. The method also includes triggering an action in the controller based upon the aggregated data. Finally, the method includes propagating the aggregated data to a different controller communicatively coupled to other sensors of a different WSN geographically proximate to the different controller.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for real-time analytics driven decisioning of edge devices in a wireless sensor network (WSN);
establishing a communicative connection by a controller with a plurality of sensors in a geographically proximate WSN;
aggregating data received from the sensors;
triggering an action in the controller based upon the aggregated data; and,
propagating the aggregated data to a different controller communicatively coupled to other sensors of a different WSN geographically proximate to the different controller.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein each of the controllers includes an analytics engine configured to reduce the aggregated data and a decisioning engine configured to trigger an action in the controller based upon the reduced aggregated data.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the WSN is a mesh network of sensors.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein each of the sensors propagates sensed data to others of the sensors in the mesh network of sensors.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising transmitting the aggregated data to a back end data center.

### Claim 6

A data processing system configured for real-time analytics driven decisioning of edge devices in a wireless sensor network (WSN);
different WSNs, each comprising a plurality of sensors sensing an environmental condition; and,
a plurality of controllers communicatively linked to one another, each executing in memory of a different computing device communicatively coupled to a geographically proximate one of the WSNs,
the controllers each aggregating data received from the WSN, triggering an action based upon the aggregated data, and propagating the aggregated data to a different one of the controllers.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The system of claim 6, wherein each of the controllers includes an analytics engine configured to reduce the aggregated data and a decisioning engine configured to trigger an action in the controller based upon the reduced aggregated data.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The system of claim 6, wherein each WSN is a mesh network of sensors.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8, wherein each of the sensors propagates sensed data to others of the sensors in the mesh network.

### Claim 10 (depends on 6)

The system of claim 6, further comprising a back end data center communicatively linked to each of the controllers and including an analytics engine and a decisioning engine processing aggregated data received from each of the controllers.

### Claim 11

A computer program product for real-time analytics driven decisioning of edge devices in a wireless sensor network (WSN), the computer program product comprising:
a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith, the computer readable program code comprising:
computer readable program code for establishing a communicative connection by a controller with a plurality of sensors in a geographically proximate WSN;
computer readable program code for aggregating data received from the sensors;
computer readable program code for triggering an action in the controller based upon the aggregated data; and,
computer readable program code for propagating the aggregated data to a different controller communicatively coupled to other sensors of a different WSN geographically proximate to the different controller.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The computer program product of claim 11, wherein each of the controllers includes an analytics engine configured to reduce the aggregated data and a decisioning engine configured to trigger an action in the controller based upon the reduced aggregated data.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The computer program product of claim 11, wherein the WSN is a mesh network of sensors.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The computer program product of claim 11, wherein each of the sensors propagates sensed data to others of the sensors in the mesh network of sensors.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The computer program product of claim 11, further comprising computer readable program code for transmitting the aggregated data to a back end data center.
