## Abstract

Disclosed herein is a pointer display device, including, a touch panel provided on a display screen of a display section, a pointer display section configured to detect a contact point in a touch operation on the touch panel and to display a pointer in an area containing the contact point, and a hotspot detection section configured to detect as a hotspot a position corresponding to one part of the pointer exclusive of the contact point.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A pointer display device, comprising:
a touch panel provided on a display screen of a display section;
a pointer display section configured to detect a contact point in a touch operation on the touch panel and to display a pointer in an area containing the contact point; and
a hotspot detection section configured to detect as a hotspot a position corresponding to one part of the pointer exclusive of the contact point.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The pointer display device according to claim 1, further comprising:
an operation element display section configured to display an operable operation element on the display screen,
wherein the pointer display section configured, when the spacing between the operation element and the pointer becomes not more than a predetermined value, to change the pointer so that the one part of the pointer is attracted onto the operation element.

The pointer display device according to claim 2,
wherein the pointer display section configured, when the spacing between the operation element and the one part of the pointer or between the operation element and the contact point becomes not more than a predetermined value, to change the pointer so that the one part of the pointer is attracted onto the operation element.

The pointer display device according to claim 2,
wherein the pointer display section configured to deflect the orientation of the one part of the pointer to thereby change the pointer so that the one part of the pointer is attracted onto the operation element.

The pointer display device according to claim 2,
wherein the pointer display section configured to extend the one part of the pointer from the contact point so that the one part of the pointer is attracted onto the operation element.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The pointer display device according to claim 1,
wherein the pointer has a pointed shape, and the one part of the pointer is a tip part of the pointed shape.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The pointer display device according to claim 1, further comprising:
a screen control section by which, when the pointer is recognized as being located at an end part on the display screen, the contents displayed on the display screen are moved according to the position of the pointer and displayed.

### Claim 8

A pointer display/detection method comprising the steps of:
detecting by a detection section a touch point in a touch operation on a touch panel provided over a display screen of a display section;
displaying a pointer in an area containing the contact point by a pointer display section and
detecting as a hotspot a position corresponding to one part of the pointer exclusive of the touch point, by a hotspot detection section.

### Claim 9

A pointer display/detection program for making a computer execute the steps of:
detecting by detection section a touch point in a touch operation on a touch panel provided over a display screen of a display section;
displaying a pointer in an area containing the contact point by pointer display section and
detecting as a hotspot a position corresponding to one part of the pointer exclusive of the touch point, by a hotspot detection section.

### Claim 10

Information apparatus, comprising:
a display section;
a touch panel provided over a display screen of the display section;
a pointer display section configured to detect a contact point in a touch operation on the touch panel and to display a pointer in an area containing the contact point; and
a hotspot detection section configured to detect as a hotspot a position corresponding to one part of the pointer exclusive of the contact point.
