## Abstract

A filtering body, in particular for a rotary separator, which extends about an axis, has two opposite axial faces and is provided with a filtering net constituted by filaments defining a plurality of pores between them and with a frame, which is defined by non-porous solid elements, supports the filtering net and is made in one piece with the filtering net; at least some of the filaments of the filtering net extend from one of the axial faces along respective longitudinal axes, which are parallel.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A filtering body (10), in particular for a rotary separator, the filtering body extending about an axis (5), having a first axial face (11a) and a second axial face (11b) opposite to said first axial face (11a), and comprising:
a filtering net (14) defined by filaments (22) defining a plurality of pores therebetween;
a frame (20) defined by non-porous solid elements, supporting said filtering net (14) and made in one piece with said filtering net (14);
characterized in that, when considering diametrical sections of said filtering body, at least some of said filaments (22) extend from said first axial face (11a) along respective longitudinal axes (23), which are parallel.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The filtering body according to claim 1, characterized in that said longitudinal axes (23) form an inclination angle (Z) of between approximately 0° and 50° with respect to said axis (5) on said first axial face (11a).

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The filtering body according to claim 1, characterized in that at least some of said filaments (22) extend substantially up to said second axial face (11b) uninterruptedly, without further intermediate filtering elements between said first and second axial faces (11a,11b).

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The filtering body according to claim 1, characterized in that said frame (20) comprises a plurality of beams (44), which extend in a circumferential or tangential direction with respect to said axis (5) and support at least some of said filaments (22).

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The filtering body according to claim 4, characterized in that said beams (44) are arranged substantially along said first and second axial faces (11a,11b) and support the ends of said filaments (22).

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The filtering body according to claim 5, characterized in that said beams (44) have the same cross-section, which is elongated parallel to a direction having an inclination angle (M) of between approximately 0° and 75° with respect to said axis (5), when considering any diametrical section plane.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The filtering body according to claim 6, characterized in that the inclination angles (Z,M) of said filaments and said beams (44) are equal.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The filtering body according to claim 6, characterized in that each said beam (44) has two faces (46,47) substantially parallel to said direction, in said diametrical section plane; and in that each said beam (44) supports the ends of three series of filaments; two of said series of filaments (22′,22′) being supported, respectively, by said faces (46,47); the other of said series of filaments (22′″) being substantially aligned with the beam (44).

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The filtering body according to claim 8, characterized by comprising a plurality of transversal bridges (53), which connect the ends of at least one of said series of filaments to the corresponding said side (46,47).

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The filtering body according to claim 1, characterized by having an outer cylindrical surface (12) and an inner cylindrical surface (13) provided with windows (32,34) fitted with respective grids (39,40) defined by filtering elements that support the ends of said filaments (22).

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

A rotary separator comprising:
a toroidal-shaped filter (8), rotating about an axis (5) and comprising at least one filtering body (10) made according to claim 1;
a chamber (3) housing said filter (8) and having an inlet (4) to receive, in use, an air-oil mixture and an outlet to drain off, in use, the oil separated by said filter (8);
said longitudinal axes (23) being positioned such that said filaments (22) are transversal to a mean entry direction of the air-oil mixture into said filtering body (10).
