## Abstract

Pallet box assembly configured as planter box or workman's utility box is disclosed. The pallet box assembly includes a pallet base, two side panels, a front panel, and a rear panel, which are collapsible and reusable. Pallet base has tenon joint parts with locking mechanisms that extend out. Pallet base has an opening extending therethrough for ease of handling by pallet jack or hand truck. The side panels include grooves. Front and rear panels include tenon joint part with locking mechanism. The side panels are identical and interchangeable, the front panel is identical and interchangeable with the rear panel. Each locking mechanism includes a winged bolt threadedly inserted and engaged into the tenon joint part, and a wing which is rotated by about 45 to 135 degrees to engageably and securely attach the corresponding tenon joint part in the corresponding groove, so that the pallet box assembly is securely installed.

two side panels, each of the side panel includes four or more grooves, in which two of the grooves are arranged horizontally adjacent to the bottom edge of the side panel, one of the grooves is arranged vertically adjacent to one edge of the side panel, and one of the grooves is arranged vertically adjacent to another edge of the side panel;
a front panel comprising one or more tenon joint part which includes one locking mechanism; and
a rear panel comprising one or more tenon joint part which includes one locking mechanism,
wherein the side panels to be identical and interchangeable, the front panel is identical and interchangeable with the rear panel, the locking mechanism includes a long threaded winged bolt threadedly inserted and engaged into the tenon joint part, a wing for the long threaded winged bolt of each locking mechanism is rotated by about 45 degrees to 135 degrees in either clockwise or counterclockwise direction so as to engageably and securely attach the corresponding tenon joint part in the corresponding groove.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pallet box assembly is adapted and configured to be a planter box having a plurality of drainage holes formed throughout the pallet base and a collection pan housed in the opening of the pallet base to collect excess water.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the wings of the long threaded winged bolt are made into the shape of a rectangular block, a plate or a pearl wing nut.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the locking mechanisms of the front panel, the rear panel, and the pallet base is inserted through one corresponding groove of the side panel, so that the tenon joint part is inserted and fittingly engaged with the corresponding groove formed on the side panel to form a tongue and groove joint.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pallet base is configured with an opening extending all the way therethrough from one side surface thereof adjacent to the front panel to another side surface thereof adjacent to the rear panel.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the front panel has two tenon joint parts that extend out from two side surfaces of the front panel, respectively, each of the tenon joint part includes one locking mechanism.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the rear panel has two tenon joint parts that extend out from two side surfaces of the rear panel, respectively, each of the tenon joint part includes one locking mechanism.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the front panel has only one tenon joint part located at an upper portion of the front panel and the rear panel has only one tenon joint part located at an upper portion of the rear panel.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the opening is configured to allow for at least two way entries.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the opening is configured to the pallet base of the pallet box assembly for ease of handling by pallet jack or hand truck.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the side panels, the front panel, and the rear panel of the pallet box assembly all have a plurality of vertical grooves formed on the inside surface of the side panels so as to prevent tangled roots wherein the vertical grooves are spaced evenly therebetween.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The pallet box assembly as claimed in claim 12, wherein the pallet base has a plurality of shallow border grooves configured along the edges thereof adjacent to the front panel and the rear panel, respectively.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)
