Abstract
A method includes defining and storing one or more attributes of a source resonator and a device resonator forming a system, defining and storing the interaction between the source resonator and the device resonator, modeling the electromagnetic performance of the system to derive one or more modeled values and utilizing the derived one or more modeled values to design an impedance matching network.

A computer-implemented method for designing a wireless power transfer system, the method comprising:
- through a computer-implemented user interface:
- defining one or more attributes of a source resonator and a device resonator forming the wireless power transfer system;
- defining a relative position and orientation between the source resonator and the device resonator, wherein the relative position is defined in three-dimensional coordinates;
- and
- defining a range of a sweep parameter which determine conditions of the wireless power transfer system;
- calculating, using a processor, an electromagnetic performance of the wireless energy transfer system for the conditions determined by the range of the sweep parameter;
- and
- generating, through the computer-implemented user interface, a visual representation of information about the modeled electromagnetic performance of the wireless energy transfer system based on the range of the sweep parameter.
The method of claim 1 further comprising:
- defining, through the computer-implemented user interface, an impedance matching network of the wireless power transfer system;
- wherein calculating the electromagnetic performance is based on the system including the impedance matching network.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing a set of instructions that causes a computer to:
- enable the defining through a computer-implemented user interface of one or more attributes of a source resonator and a device resonator forming a wireless energy transfer system;
- enable the defining through the user interface of a relative position and orientation between the source resonator and the device resonator, wherein the relative position is defined in three-dimensional coordinates;
- enable the defining through the user interface a range of a sweep parameter which determine conditions of the wireless power transfer system;
- calculate an electromagnetic performance of the wireless energy transfer system for the conditions determined by the range of the sweep parameter;
- and
- generate a visual representation of information about the modeled electromagnetic performance of the wireless energy transfer system based on the range of the sweep parameter.
