Abstract
According to one embodiment, a method for managing a plurality of sessions is disclosed. The method includes advertising, by a node establishing the plurality of sessions, a session limit capability to peer nodes of the plurality, of sessions, determining priorities of the plurality of sessions, and selecting an optimal session from the plurality of sessions based on a session limit parameter and the determined priorities of the plurality of sessions, wherein the session limit parameter indicates the number of acceptable sessions for the node establishing the plurality of sessions. Additionally, a corresponding apparatus is also disclosed according to another embodiment.
Claims18
A method for managing a plurality of sessions, the method comprising:
- advertising, by a node establishing the plurality of sessions, a session limit capability to peer nodes for the plurality of sessions;
- determining priorities of the plurality of sessions;
- and
- selecting an optimal session from the plurality of sessions based on a session limit parameter and the determined priorities of the plurality of sessions, wherein the session limit parameter indicates a number of acceptable sessions for the node establishing the plurality of sessions.
An apparatus for managing a plurality of sessions in a Multi-Path Routing based network, the apparatus comprising:
- an advertisement module configured to advertise a session limit capability to peer nodes for the plurality of sessions;
- a priority determination module configured to determine priorities of the plurality of sessions;
- and
- a selection module configured to select an optimal session from the plurality of sessions based on a session limit parameter and the determined priorities of the plurality of sessions, wherein the session limit parameter indicates a number of acceptable sessions for the node establishing the plurality of sessions.
