System and method for organizing files based on an identification code

A computer-implemented method of renaming a plurality of image files, by at least one processor, comprising:

• receiving, from a client device, a plurality of image files and data associated with each of the plurality of image files wherein the data comprises:
• a file import time;
• a file name, assigned by the device that captured the image for each of the plurality of image files;
• and
• data selected from the group consisting of:
• exchangeable image file data that comprises a date and a time that each of the plurality of image files was captured, expressed in hours, minutes and seconds;
• a file modification time that indicates a date and a time that each of the plurality of image files was modified, expressed in hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds;
• and
• a file date-time that indicates a raw date and a raw time that each of the plurality of image files was created, expressed in hours, minutes and seconds;
• determining a capture time for each of the plurality of image files based on the data associated with each of the plurality of image files;
• and
• renaming each of the plurality of image files with a standardized name that is based on the determined capture time.

A system for associating uploaded digital content in an account with a unique identification code within a content management system, wherein the system is associated with a client device comprising:

• at least one processor;
• memory operatively coupled to the at least one processor;
• and
• a network connection;
• wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• receive, from the client device over the at least one network, a plurality of digital content and data associated with each of the plurality of digital content wherein the data comprises:
• a digital content import time that indicates when each of the plurality of digital content was imported onto the client device;
• a digital content name for each of the plurality of digital content;
• and
• data selected from the group consisting of:
• exchangeable image file data that comprises a date and a time that each of the plurality of digital content was created;
• a file modification time that indicates a date and a time that each of the plurality of digital content was stored in memory of the device that created the digital content, expressed in hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds;
• and
• a file date-time that indicates a raw date and a raw time that each of the plurality of digital content was created by the device that created the digital content, expressed in hours, minutes and seconds;
• determine a creation time for each of the plurality of digital content based on the data associated with each of the plurality of digital content;
• adjust the creation time based on a time zone associated with the digital content;
• and
• associate each of the plurality of digital content with a unique identification code that is based on the adjusted creation time.
