Implantable and removable customizable body conduit

A system for bypassing a stenosis, the system comprising:

• a catheter, comprising
• an elongate body comprising a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a lumen extending therebetween along a longitudinal axis, wherein the distal portion is configured to be inserted through the stenosis such that the proximal portion is positioned proximal of the stenosis and the distal portion is positioned distal of the stenosis;
• an inner surface of the elongate body defining the lumen and an outer surface of the elongate body surrounding the inner surface;
• and
• a braided structure embedded within the elongate body about the lumen;
• and
• a connector for fluidly coupling with the catheter, the connector comprising:
• a connector body comprising an outer surface defining a first outer perimeter and an inner surface defining a lumen;
• and
• an engagement feature disposed on the outer surface of the connector body defining a second outer perimeter greater than the first outer perimeter, wherein the proximal portion of the elongate body and the braided structure are configured to be advanced over the engagement feature.

A method of bypassing a stenosis, the method comprising:

• inserting an elongate body through the stenosis such that a proximal portion of the elongate body is positioned proximal of the stenosis and a distal portion of the elongate body is configured to freely float within a vascular segment distal of the stenosis, wherein the elongate body comprises an inner surface defining a lumen, and wherein a braided structure is embedded within the elongate body about the lumen;
• applying an axial force to the proximal portion of the elongate body and the braided structure to expand the lumen for advancement over an engagement feature associated with a connector;
• advancing the enlarged lumen of the proximal portion of the elongate body and the braided structure over the engagement feature;
• and
• applying a compressive force to the engagement feature when the proximal portion of the elongate body and the braided structure are placed over the engagement feature.

A method of bypassing a stenosis and providing vascular access, comprising:

• providing a distal blood conduit and a proximal blood conduit comprising a graft and a connector having a retention feature located thereon, the distal blood conduit including a catheter comprising a braided structure embedded therein;
• inserting a distal zone of the distal blood conduit into the vasculature and through a stenosis in the vasculature;
• and
• advancing the catheter over a distal segment of the connector until at least a portion of the braided structure is positioned proximal of the retention feature.
