A process for the preparation of oligofuran of formula III(n+2m) comprising reacting a compound represented by the structure of formula I:
- with 2-(tributyltin)-oligofuran of formula II:
- to yield oligofuran of formula III(n+2m):
- wherein X is Br of I;
- m is an integer between 1-20;
- and
- n is an integer between 1-20.
