A method for treating or prophylaxis of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection which comprises administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound having the formula (III)
- wherein denotes a single or double bond;
- X is N or O;
- R1 is C1-10 alkyloxy, C2-10 alkenyloxy, or C2-10 alkynyloxy;
- R2 is H, C1-10 alkyl, C2-10 alkenyl or C2-10 alkynyl;
- and
- R3 is absent, H or hydroxy;
- provided that if X is O, R3 is absent.
