Intelligent prefetching of recommended-media content

One or more computer storage media storing computer-useable instructions that, when used by one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to perform a method for prefetching recommended-media content based on a prefetch setting, the method comprising:

• receiving a recommendation profile comprising recommendation metrics for identifying recommended-media content;
• generating a recommended-media record reciting recommended-media content that is generated based on the recommendation profile, wherein the recommended-media content is downloaded to a media platform based on determining the prefetch setting of the media platform, and wherein determining that the prefetch setting is a default setting results in automatically downloading the recommended-media content to the media platform and determining that the prefetch setting is a customized setting results in automatically downloading the recommended-media content based on the customized prefetch setting;
• and
• sending the recommended-media record to the media platform.

A method for prefetching a recommended-media content based on prefetch settings, the method comprising:

• sending recommendation metrics to a recommendation-metrics server;
• receiving a recommendation profile generated based on recommendation metrics, wherein the recommendation profile is associated with a media platform;
• sending the recommendation profile to a recommendation engine;
• receiving a recommended-media record reciting the recommended-media content, generated based on the recommendation profile, wherein the recommended-media record is associated with the media platform;
• determining, based on the prefetch setting for the media platform, how to automatically download the recommended-media content to the media platform, wherein a default prefetch setting results in without user intervention automatically downloading the recommended-media content to the media platform and a customized prefetch setting results in without user intervention automatically downloading the recommended-media content based on the customized prefetch setting;
• and
• downloading the recommended-media content based on the prefetch setting.
