Abstract
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for adjusting a number of game mechanics associated with a game system. During operation, the system obtains a psychosocial profile associated with a user, adjusts the game mechanics based on the obtained psychosocial profile, and updates the game system based on the adjusted game mechanics.
Claims21
A computer-executable method for adjusting a number of game mechanics associated with a game system, the method comprising:
- obtaining a psychosocial profile associated with a user;
- adjusting the game mechanics based on the obtained psychosocial profile;
- determining whether the adjusted game mechanics have motivated the user to perform a task;
- and
- responsive to determining that the adjusted game mechanics have not motivated the user, re-adjusting the game mechanics.
A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that when executed by a computer cause the computer to perform a method for adjusting a number of game mechanics associated with a game system, the method comprising:
- obtaining a psychosocial profile associated with a user;
- adjusting the game mechanics based on the obtained psychosocial profile;
- determining whether the adjusted game mechanics have motivated the user to perform a task;
- and
- responsive to determining that the adjusted game mechanics have not motivated the user, re-adjusting the game mechanics.
A game system, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- a memory;
- a user-profile-obtaining mechanism configured to obtain a psychosocial profile associated with a user;
- an adjusting mechanism configured to adjust the game mechanics based on the obtained psychosocial profile;
- a feedback mechanism configured to determine whether the adjusted game mechanics have motivated the user to perform a task;
- and
- the adjusting mechanism configured to re-adjust the game mechanics responsive to determining that the adjusted game mechanics have not motivated the user.
