Abstract
Techniques are described for power conservation in emergency broadcast message reception in a wireless communications system. In accordance with a method for conserving power, one or more segments of an emergency broadcast message in an access stratum are received. The emergency broadcast message is identified as a duplicate emergency broadcast message based at least in part on one or more identifiers of the received one or more segments. The receipt of additional segments of the emergency broadcast message is terminated.

A method for wireless communications, comprising:
- receiving one or more segments of a first emergency broadcast message in an access stratum;
- determining whether the first emergency broadcast is a duplicate emergency broadcast message based at least in part on one or more identifiers of the received one or more segments;
- and
- terminating receipt of additional segments of the first emergency broadcast message based at least in part on the determination that the first emergency broadcast message is a duplicate emergency broadcast message.
An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:
- a processor;
- memory in electronic communication with the processor;
- and
- instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
- receive one or more segments of a first emergency broadcast message in an access stratum;
- determine whether the first emergency broadcast is a duplicate emergency broadcast message based at least in part on one or more identifiers of the received one or more segments;
- and
- terminate receipt of additional segments of the first emergency broadcast message.
An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:
- means for receiving one or more segments of a first emergency broadcast message in an access stratum;
- means for determining whether the first emergency broadcast is a duplicate emergency broadcast message based at least in part on one or more identifiers of the received one or more segments;
- and
- means for terminating receipt of additional segments of the first emergency broadcast message based at least in part on the determination that the first emergency broadcast message is a duplicate emergency broadcast message.
