An IL-21 antibody for use in treating arthero-sclerosis in a diabetic patient, wherein said diabetic patient has hypertension and elevated blood levels of LDL/cholesterol, wherein said IL-21 antibody competes with a receptor for binding to IL-21, wherein said receptor is selected from the group consisting of:

IL-21Rα and γC.
