Abstract
Microfluidic devices and methods including porous polymer monoliths are described. Polymerization techniques may be used to generate porous polymer monoliths having pores defined by a liquid component of a fluid mixture. The fluid mixture may contain iniferters and the resulting porous polymer monolith may include surfaces terminated with iniferter species. Capture molecules may then be grafted to the monolith pores.
Claims6
A microfluidic device for sample analysis comprising:
- a microfluidic channel;
- a porous polymer monolith disposed in the micofluidic channel, the porous polymer monolith having pores defined in part by a quantity of liquid porogen solution within a liquid monolith precursor solution utilized to form the porous polymer monolith and iniferter species bound to a surface of at least one of the pores;
- and
- an inlet port coupled to the microfluidic channel.
