Abstract
A method and apparatus for handling cell reselections and transitions includes executing a cell reselection. A medium access control (MAC)-ehs reset is performed.
Claims16
A method for handling cell reselections, the method comprising:
- performing cell reselection;
- determining whether high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) reception is enabled by determining if HS-DSCH common system information is included in System Information Block (SIB) 5 or SIB 5bis and if a value of a variable HS_DSCH_RECEPTION_OF_CCCH_ENABLED is set to TRUE;
- and
- performing a medium access control (MAC) reset in response to the HS-DSCH reception being enabled.

A user equipment (UE), the UE comprising:
- a receiver;
- a transmitter;
- and
- a processor in communication with the receiver and the transmitter, the processor configured to:
- perform cell reselection,
- determine whether high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) reception is enabled by determining if HS-DSCH common system information is included in System Information Block (SIB) 5 or SIB 5bis and if a value of a variable HS_DSCH_RECEPTION_OF_CCCH_ENABLED is set to TRUE, and
- perform a medium access control (MAC) reset in response to the HS-DSCH reception being enabled.
