A device and method for receiving, by a mobile terminal, system information from a base station. The method includes: receiving a block of first system information from the base station via a broadcast channel configured to broadcast only system information; and receiving a plurality of blocks of second system information from the base station via a downlink shared channel configured to carry system information and other data, one of the plurality of blocks of second system information including scheduling information
Claims18
A method for receiving, by a user equipment (UE) from a base station, system information via a broadcast control channel (BCCH), the method comprising:
- receiving a block of first system information from the base station via a broadcast channel (BCH);
- after the block of the first system information is received, receiving a first block of the second system information from the base station via a downlink shared channel (DL_SCH), the first block of the second system information including schedule information;
- and
- after the first block of the second system information is received, receiving at least second block of the second system information from the base station via the DL_SCH in accordance with the schedule information included in the first block of the second system information,
- wherein the first block of the second system information follows the block of the first system information with a fixed time offset.
A method for transmitting, by a base station to at least one user equipment (UE), system information via a broadcast control channel (BCCH), the method comprising:
- transmitting a block of first system information to the at least one UE via a broadcast channel (BCH);
- after the block of the first system information is transmitted, transmitting a first block of second system information to the at least one UE via a downlink shared channel (DL_SCH), the first block of the second system information including schedule information;
- and
- after the first block of the second system information is transmitted, transmitting at least second block of the second system information to the at least one UE via the DL_SCH in accordance with the schedule information included in the first block of the second system information,
- wherein the first block of the second system information follows the block of the first system information with a fixed time offset.
