An adjusting screw (1), particularly a screw for adjusting the inertia of a balance (2) of a clockwork oscillator, the screw comprising a longitudinal axis (3), this screw also comprising a first set (A0) of at least one reference (A1, A2, A3) for indicating the longitudinal position of the screw with respect to a member, notably the balance, into which the screw is screwed.
