Abstract
The present disclosure includes methods, devices, modules, and systems for operating semiconductor memory. One method embodiment includes determining a status of a page of memory cells without using input/output (I/O) circuitry, and outputting the status through the I/O circuitry.

1-20. (canceled)
A method for operating a memory device, comprising:
- issuing a status command;
- and
- initiating a sequence to determine a status of a page of memory cells of the memory device without outputting a sensed state of the memory cells in the page to input/output (I/O) circuitry of the memory device in response to the status command.
A memory device, comprising:
- a page of memory cells;
- input/output (I/O) circuitry;
- and
- control circuitry configured to issue a command that initiates a sequence including:
- sensing a state of a number of memory cells in the page;
- and
- determining whether a status of the page is a particular status without outputting the sensed state of the number of memory cells to the I/O circuitry.
