Abstract
The claimed invention provides an anti-glare film which has high pencil hardness and high scratch resistance along with crack prevention, and also has high image contrast and excellent anti-glare property. Provided is an anti-glare film including a light transmitting substrate, and an anti-glare layer having surface roughness on at least one surface of the light transmitting substrate. The anti-glare layer includes chain-like inorganic fine particles which have an area ratio of 30 to 94% in the thickness direction cross section of the anti-glare layer.

An anti-glare film comprising:
- a light transmitting substrate, and
- an anti-glare layer with surface roughness on at least one surface of the light transmitting substrate,
- the anti-glare layer comprising chain-like inorganic fine particles which have an area ratio of 30 to 94% in a thickness direction cross section of the anti-glare layer.
