Abstract
A broadcast image output device includes: a reception unit that receives a broadcast; an output unit that outputs a plurality of home screens in each of which a broadcast image relating to the broadcast received by the reception unit or an app image is allocatable to each section of a display area, the broadcast image and the app image being selectable by user operation; and a control unit that selects one of the home screens in accordance with preset setting information to cause the output unit to output the selected home screen as an initial screen that is ready to accept the user operation and appears after the broadcast image output device is turned on.

A broadcast image output device comprising:
- a reception unit configured to receive a broadcast;
- an output unit configured to output a plurality of home screens, each home screen of the plurality of home screens including a display area including a plurality of sections, such that in each home screen of the plurality of home screens a broadcast image relating to the broadcast received by the reception unit or an image other than the broadcast image is allocatable to each section of the plurality of sections of the display area, the broadcast image and the image other than the broadcast image being selectable by a user operation, and the sections being separated by an interstice area therebetween;
- and
- a control unit configured to select one of the home screens in accordance with preset setting information to cause the output unit to output the selected home screen as an initial screen that is ready to accept the user operation and appears after the broadcast image output device is turned on.

A broadcast image output device comprising:
- a reception unit configured to receive a broadcast;
- an output unit configured to (i) output a plurality of home screens, each home screen of the plurality of home screens including a display area including a plurality of sections, such that in each home screen of the plurality of home screens a broadcast image relating to the broadcast received by the reception unit or an image other than the broadcast image is allocatable to each section of the plurality of sections of the display area, the broadcast image and the image other than the broadcast image being selectable by a user operation, and the sections being separated by an interstice area therebetween, and (ii) output a home switching screen which displays at least parts of at least two of the home screens;
- and
- a control unit configured to, during a time when the home switching screen is being outputted by the output unit, accept a specification for one home screen from among the at least two of the home screens, the specification being the home switching instruction.

A television comprising:
- a tuner for receiving a broadcast;
- a display capable of displaying a broadcast image relating to the broadcast received by the tuner;
- and
- a processor for controlling display of the display,
- wherein the display displays one of a plurality of home screens in accordance with control by the processor, each home screen of the plurality of home screens including a display area including a plurality of sections,
- in each home screen of the plurality of home screens, the broadcast image relating to the broadcast received by the tuner or an image other than the broadcast image is allocated to each section of the plurality of sections of the display area, the broadcast image and the image other than the broadcast image being selectable by a user operation, and the sections being separated by an interstice area therebetween, and
- the processor selects one of the home screens in accordance with preset setting information to cause the display to display the selected home screen as an initial screen that is ready to accept the user operation and appears after the broadcast image output device is turned on.

A broadcast image output method comprising:
- receiving a broadcast;
- selecting one of a plurality of home screens in accordance with preset setting information, each home screen of the plurality of home screens including a display area including a plurality of sections;
- and
- outputting the selected home screen as an initial screen that is ready to accept a user operation and appears after the broadcast image output device is turned on,
- wherein in each home screen of the plurality of home screens, a broadcast image or an image other than the broadcast image is allocatable to each section of the plurality of sections of the display area, the broadcast image and the image other than the broadcast image being selectable by the user operation, and the sections being separated by an interstice area therebetween.
