Abstract
A synthetic image generation apparatus includes: a receiving unit which receives painting data from an input device; a synthesis unit which synthesizes a still image included in video content with the painting data received by the receiving unit, to generate a synthetic image; and a display control unit which selectively displays the video content and the synthetic image on a display device.

A synthetic image generation apparatus comprising:
- a receiving unit configured to receive painting data from an input device;
- a synthesis unit configured to synthesize a still image included in video content with the painting data received by the receiving unit, to generate a synthetic image;
- and
- a display control unit configured to selectively display the video content and the synthetic image on a display device.
