Abstract
A valve apparatus is comprised of a solenoid valve, a manual valve, a pressure relief device, a check valve, an excess flow shut-off device, and a temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is arranged inside the tank in an ambient atmosphere. The sealing member is prevented from falling off from the recess by a floating seal structure. The sealing effectiveness is improved by employing a double seal configuration and also by a smooth surface roughness. A high pressure seal structure is presented. The improved pressure relief device design for 75 MPa application has been presented.
Claims12
A valve assembly comprised of the following:
- a) A housing body being fixed to a gas cylinder and provided with a gas inlet which communicates with an interior space of the gas cylinder, a gas inlet passage, an excess flow shut-off device;
- b) A first opening and closing valve having a first valve seat;
- c) A first closure member seal inserted into the first open/close valve;
- d) An actuation means connected to the first closure member through a transmission member and being manually operated to open and close the first closure member with respect to the first valve seat;
- e) A second opening and closing valve with an inlet of the second valve communicating with the outlet of the first open/close valve, the outlet passage of the second valve communicating with a gas outlet;
- f) The second opening and closing valve having a valve chamber, a second valve seat, a valve closing spring and an electromagnetic device;
- g) The second closure member inserted in to the valve chamber, the second closure member being pushed toward the second valve seat by a resilient force of the valve closing spring and moved in a valve-opening direction when the electromagnetic device is energized;
- h) A gas charging passage arranged separately from the gas supply passage and communicating the gas charging port with the interior space of the gas cylinder;
- i) A check valve provided in the gas charging passage and inhibiting the gas flow from the interior space to the gas charging port;
- j) A thermal safety device provided in the PRD (pressure relief device) passage path and joining the gas charging passage, with gas charging passage and PRD passage ultimately sharing the common port inside the tank, and the PRD output port being separate from the gas charging port.
The valve assembly as set forth in claim 6, wherein the seal member of the main valve member of solenoid valve has two O-rings or more on its tapered surface
