Abstract
The present invention relates to a transparent chemically functionalized graphene with high electrical conductivity and which is stable in air. It also relates to a method of manufacturing a conductive and transparent graphene-based material.
Claims20
A highly conductive, transparent graphene-based conductor including a plurality of layers of graphene intercalated with ferric chloride on a substrate.
A method of manufacturing a highly conductive, transparent conductor including the steps of:
- cleaving natural graphite on a substrate to produce few layer graphene on the substrate;
- placing the substrate with few layer graphene thereon with anhydrous ferric chloride powder in a vacuum at a pressure of 2×10-4 mbar;
- heating the substrate with few layer graphene thereon at 360° C. and heating the anhydrous ferric chloride powder at 310° C. for 7.5 hours.
