Abstract
A gas sample extraction assembly for controllably accessing gas in a gas sample container includes a coupler body having a coupler bore and a coupler end for engaging the gas sample container; an upper member having an upper member bore; a biasing member disposed between the upper member and the coupler body; and a stem having a first portion coupled to the upper member bore and a second portion disposed in the coupler bore, the stem being movable relative to the coupler body between a first axial position and a second axial position, wherein the biasing member is configured to bias the stem in the first axial position.

A gas sample extraction assembly for controllably accessing gas in a gas sample container, the sample extraction assembly comprising:
- a coupler body having a coupler bore and a coupler end for engaging the gas sample container;
- an upper member having an upper member bore;
- a biasing member disposed between the upper member and the coupler body;
- and
- a stem having a first portion coupled to the upper member bore and a second portion disposed in the coupler bore, the stem being movable relative to the coupler body between a first axial position and a second axial position, wherein the biasing member is configured to bias the stem in the first axial position.
A gas sample extraction assembly for controllably accessing gas in a gas sample container, the sample extraction assembly comprising:
- a stem;
- a retaining member coupled to an upper portion of the stem;
- a coupler body having a coupler bore for receiving the stem and a coupler end for engaging the gas sample container;
- and
- a biasing member disposed between the retaining member and the coupler body;
- wherein the stem is movable relative to the coupler body between a first axial position and a second axial position and the biasing member is configured to bias the stem in the first axial position.
A gas sample extraction assembly for accessing a gas sample container having a valve, the sample extraction assembly comprising:
- a coupler body having a coupler bore and a coupler end for engaging the gas sample container;
- and
- a stem having a stem bore, wherein the stem is disposed in the coupler bore and is movable along a longitudinal axis of the coupler bore to open the valve of the gas sample container.
A method of accessing a gas sample container using a gas sample extraction assembly, comprising:
- providing the extraction assembly with coupler body and a stem coupled to the coupler body;
- attaching the coupler body to the gas sample container;
- opening the gas sample container by moving the stem into contact with a valve of the gas sample container;
- allowing fluid to flow from the gas sample container into a bore of the stem;
- and
- retracting the stem away from the gas sample container.
