## Abstract

An apparatus and a method for editing memo contents of a user in a user terminal including a user interface are provided. When a part or all of the memo contents on a screen are damaged based on a memo function by using a prearranged pattern, the damaged part or all of the memo contents are deleted and a memo where the part or all of the memo contents have been deleted is displayed on the screen. At this time, the memo displayed on the screen has gone through an edit for filling a blank generated due to the deletion of the damaged part or all of the memo contents by moving successive memo contents to the deleted memo contents.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of editing a memo based on a memo function in a user terminal supporting a writing based memo function, the method comprising:
when a part or all of contents of the memo made on a screen are damaged by a user based on the memo function to an extent where the part or all of the contents of the memo cannot be normally recognized, deleting the damaged part or all of the contents from the memo; and
displaying a memo where the part or all of the contents have been deleted on the screen.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the damage is made by painting over the part or all of the contents of the memo to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein, when the part of the contents of the memo made by the user is damaged and there are successive contents of the memo in the damaged part of the contents, a blank generated by deleting the damaged part of the contents is filled with the successive contents of the memo and the memo is displayed on the screen.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein, when the damaged part or all of the contents are not interpreted as a letter, a word, or a sentence having a particular meaning, it is determined that the part or all of the contents are damaged to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein, when the damaged part or all of the contents are interpreted as a preset number or more of letters, words, or sentences, it is determined that the part or all of the contents are damaged to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein, when a particular phoneme in the contents of the memo made on the screen overlaps additional writing corresponding to the damage at a preset number of coordinate points, it is determined that the particular phoneme is damaged to an extent where the particular phoneme cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the displaying of the memo comprises:
recognizing contents of the memo made by a user based on the memo function and displaying the recognized contents on the screen;
when a part or all of conventionally displayed contents are damaged to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized, by newly displayed contents on the screen, recognizing the newly displayed contents as a request for deleting the damaged contents; and
when the request for deleting the damaged contents is recognized, displaying, on the screen, edited contents where the damaged contents have been deleted from the displayed contents on the screen.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein drawing a line on or painting over the part or all of the contents having damaged the part or all of the conventionally displayed contents is performed with an equal color to that of the conventionally displayed contents.

### Claim 9 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, further comprising editing the contents by matching a start point in the blank area generated due to the movement of the area where the damaged contents had been displayed with a start point in the area displaying the remaining contents after the damaged contents.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the recognizing of the request for deleting the damaged contents comprises:
when the part or all of the conventionally displayed contents are damaged by the newly displayed contents on the screen, inquiring of the user about whether to delete the damaged contents; and
recognizing the newly displayed contents as the request for deleting the damaged contents through a response of the user to the inquiry.

### Claim 11

A user terminal for editing a memo displayed on a screen based on a writing based memo function, the user terminal comprising:
a user interface for exchanging information according to the writing based memo function with a user; and
a controller for, when a part or all of the contents of the memo made on the screen of the user interface are damaged by the user based on the memo function to an extent where the part or all of the contents of the memo cannot be normally recognized, deleting the damaged part or all of the contents from the memo and for controlling the user interface to display a memo where the part or all of the contents haven been deleted on the screen.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The user terminal of claim 11, wherein the damage is made by painting over the part or all of the contents of the memo to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The user terminal of claim 12, wherein, when the part of the contents of the memo made by the user is damaged and there are successive contents of the memo in the damaged part of the contents, the controller fills a blank generated by deleting the damaged part of the contents with the successive contents of the memo and displays the memo on the screen.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The user terminal of claim 11, wherein, when the damaged part or all of the contents are not interpreted as a letter, a word, or a sentence having a particular meaning, it is determined that the part or all of the contents are damaged to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The user terminal of claim 11, wherein, when the damaged part or all of the contents are interpreted as a preset number or more of letters, words, or sentences, it is determined that the part or all of the contents are damaged to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 16 (depends on 11)

The user terminal of claim 11, wherein, when a particular phoneme in the contents of the memo made on the screen overlaps additional writing corresponding to the damage at a preset number of coordinate points, it is determined that the particular phoneme is damaged to an extent where the particular phoneme cannot be normally recognized.

### Claim 17 (depends on 11)

The user terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller recognizes contents of the memo made by the user through the user interface and controls the user interface to display the recognized contents on the screen, when a part or all of displayed contents are damaged, to an extent where the part or all of the contents cannot be normally recognized, by newly displayed contents on the screen, recognizes the newly displayed contents as a request for deleting the damaged contents, and, when the request for deleting the damaged contents is recognized, displays edited contents where the damaged contents are deleted from the displayed contents on the screen, on the screen.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The user terminal of claim 17, wherein, only when drawing a line on the part or all of the contents or painting over the part or all of the contents is performed with an equal color to that of the displayed contents, the controller determines that a request for deleting the part or all of the contents on which the line is drawn or over which newly displayed contents are painted is input by the user.

### Claim 19 (depends on 13)

The user terminal of claim 13, wherein the controller configures the edited contents by matching a start point in the blank area generated due to the movement of the area where the damaged contents had been displayed with a start point in the area displaying the remaining contents after the damaged contents.

### Claim 20 (depends on 17)

The user terminal of claim 17, wherein, when the part or all of the displayed contents are damaged by the newly displayed contents on the screen, the controller inquiries of the user about whether to delete the damaged contents, and finally confirms the newly displayed contents as the request for deleting the damaged contents through a response of the user to the inquiry through the user interface.
