## Abstract

A first data set is derived from a second data set. The first data set is stored in a database of derived data sets. The second data set is updated without updating the first data set, such that the first data set and the second data are inconsistent. The first data set is deleted or updated during batch processing of the database of the derived data sets.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method comprising:
deriving a first plurality of data sets from a second plurality of data sets, the first plurality of data sets comprising a first data set, the second plurality of data sets comprising a second data set, the first data set being derived from the second data set during the deriving operation;
storing the first data set in a database comprising the first plurality of data sets;
updating the second data set without modifying the first data set stored in the database;
batch processing the database to determine whether the first plurality of data sets is consistent with the second plurality of data sets;
while batch processing the database, determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set;
responsive to determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set while batch processing the database, updating the first data set to be consistent with the updated second data set or deleting the first data set;
wherein the method is performed by at least one device comprising a hardware processor.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first data set comprises session information associated with a particular session established for communication between two or more applications.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising, while batch processing the database, modifying at least one value associated with at least one data set in the first plurality of data sets, the at least one value indicative of a time period since one or more of: a last read operation for the at least one data set or a last write operation for the at least one data set.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set comprises determining that a version number associated with the first data set does not correlate with a version number associated with the updated second data set.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set is based on a stored value indicating the at least a portion of the second data was updated after the first data set was derived from the second data set.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the batch processing operation is performed by a process, executing on the at least one device, with a lower priority than one or more other processes executing on the at least one device.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the batch processing operation is performed periodically or continuously.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising while batch processing the database, deleting multiple data sets from the first plurality of data sets.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1,
wherein the second data set comprises (a) user information and (b) access permissions information;
wherein updating the second data set comprises updating one or more of: (a) the user information and (b) the access permissions information;

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first data set comprises a pointer to at least a portion of the second data set.

### Claim 11

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions which, when executed by one or more hardware processors, is configured to perform operations comprising:
deriving a first plurality of data sets from a second plurality of data sets, the first plurality of data sets comprising a first data set, the second plurality of data sets comprising a second data set, the first data set being derived from the second data set during the deriving operation;
storing the first data set in a database comprising the first plurality of data sets;
updating the second data set without modifying the first data set stored in the database;
batch processing the database to determine whether the first plurality of data sets is consistent with the second plurality of data sets;
while batch processing the database, determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set;
responsive to determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set while batch processing the database, updating the first data set to be consistent with the updated second data set or deleting the first data set.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The computer readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein the first data set comprises session information associated with a particular session established for communication between two or more applications.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The computer readable storage medium of claim 11, further comprising, while batch processing the database, modifying at least one value associated with at least one data set in the first plurality of data sets, the at least one value indicative of a time period since one or more of: a last read operation for the at least one data set or a last write operation for the at least one data set.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The computer readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set comprises determining that a version number associated with the first data set does not correlate with a version number associated with the updated second data set.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The computer readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein determining that the first data set is inconsistent with the updated second data set is based on a stored value indicating the at least a portion of the second data was updated after the first data set was derived from the second data set.

### Claim 16 (depends on 11)

The computer readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein the batch processing operation is performed by a process, executing on the at least one device, with a lower priority than one or more other processes executing on the at least one device.

### Claim 17 (depends on 11)

The computer readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein the batch processing operation is performed periodically or continuously.

### Claim 18 (depends on 11)

The computer readable storage medium of claim 11, further comprising while batch processing the database, deleting multiple data sets from the first plurality of data sets.
