## Abstract

Medical systems and related methods are described. In some embodiments, the medical systems include an outer member defining a slot. In certain embodiments, the outer member at least partially surrounds an inner member, and the outer and inner members are configured so that an implantable medical endoprosthesis can be disposed between the outer and inner members.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A stent delivery system, comprising:
an inner shaft;
an deployment shaft disposed about the inner shaft;
a stent disposed between the inner shaft and the deployment shaft;
a handle;
a connector coupled to the handle and coupled to the inner shaft;
wherein the deployment shaft includes a rack portion, the rack portion having a longitudinal slot defined therein; and
wherein a least a section of the connector is disposed within the longitudinal slot.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the rack portion has a proximal end that is disposed proximal of the handle.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the rack portion is slidable within the handle.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the deployment shaft is retractable relative to the inner shaft.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The system of claim 4, wherein a distal end of the longitudinal slot, upon contacting the connector, substantially prevents further retraction of the deployment shaft relative to the inner shaft.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The system of claim 4, further comprising a stop secured to the deployment shaft, the stop being configured to contact the connector so that displacement of the deployment shaft and the inner shaft can be limited.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the rack portion comprises radially extending teeth.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The system of claim 7, wherein the handle includes an actuation member capable of engaging the radially extending teeth such that the deployment shaft can be retracted by actuating the actuation member.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the longitudinal slot extends from a proximal end of the rack portion to a location proximal to a distal end of the rack portion.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the longitudinal slot extends from a proximal end of the rack portion to a distal end of the rack portion.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the deployment shaft include a sheath portion that can be retracted into the handle.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein a pull grip is secured to a proximal end of the rack portion.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the connector comprises a tubular portion at least partially surrounding the inner shaft.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The system of claim 13, wherein the connector further comprises a rib portion securing the tubular portion to the handle, the longitudinal slot being configured so that the rib portion of the connector can extend radially through the longitudinal slot.

### Claim 15

A self-expanding stent delivery system, comprising:
an inner shaft;
an deployment shaft slidably disposed about the inner shaft;
a self-expanding stent disposed between the inner shaft and the deployment shaft;
a handle;
a connector coupled to the handle and coupled to the inner shaft;
wherein the deployment shaft includes a rack portion that is slidable relative to the handle, the rack portion having a longitudinal slot defined therein;
wherein a least a section of the connector is disposed within the longitudinal slot; and
wherein at least a region of the rack portion is disposed proximal of a proximal end of the handle.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The system of claim 15, wherein the handle includes an actuation member capable of engaging rack portion such that the deployment shaft can be refracted by actuating the actuation member.

### Claim 17 (depends on 15)

The system of claim 15, wherein the longitudinal slot extends from a proximal end of the rack portion to a location proximal to a distal end of the rack portion.

### Claim 18 (depends on 15)

The system of claim 15, wherein the longitudinal slot extends from a proximal end of the rack portion to a distal end of the rack portion.

### Claim 19 (depends on 15)

The system of claim 15, wherein a pull grip is secured to a proximal end of the rack portion.

### Claim 20

A self-expanding stent delivery system, comprising:
an inner shaft;
an deployment shaft slidably disposed about the inner shaft, the deployment shaft including a sheath portion and a rack portion;
a self-expanding stent disposed between the inner shaft and the sheath portion of the deployment shaft;
a handle;
a connector coupled to the handle and coupled to the inner shaft;
wherein the rack portion has a longitudinal slot defined therein;
wherein a least a section of the connector is disposed within the longitudinal slot; and
wherein a proximal end of the rack portion is disposed proximal of a proximal end of the handle.
