## Abstract

Computerized system and method for livestock groups health monitoring comprising: a storage and computing unit storing at least one database; a plurality of data collecting units of different types, each type comprising at least one sensor, the data collecting unit types selected from the group consisting of acoustic sensors, vitality meters, ammonia sensors, visual sensors and scent sensors; first communication means for communicating operating commands from the storage and computing unit to each of the data collecting units and for communicating data from the data collecting units to the storage and computing unit ; and second communication means for communicating between the storage and computing unit and a user device.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of managing a group of livestock comprising:
measuring a vitality parameter of the group of livestock;
sending a result of said measuring to a processor;
detecting with said processor an abnormal value of said vitality parameter, and
activating an operational measure in response to said detecting via a command from said processor.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein said measuring is of a group of sentinels, said group of sentinels comprising statistically significant sample of the group of livestock.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein said operational measure includes at least one of a heater and a blower.

### Claim 4

A system for managing a group of livestock comprising:
a sensor measuring vitality parameter of the group of livestock;
a processor analyzing an output of said sensor to determine a corrective measure; and
an automated control system responsive to said processor, said automated control system implementing said corrective measure.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein said vitality parameter is of a group of sentinels, said group of sentinels comprising statistically significant sample of the group of livestock.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein said automated control system includes at least one of a heater and a blower.

### Claim 7

A method of early detection of a contagious condition in a population of grazing cattle comprising:
locating a visual sensor in a gathering point of the grazing cattle;
communicating data of said visual sensor to a communication center including a long range radio transceiver;
transmitting said data by said long range radio transceiver to a computing unit;
recognizing with said computing unit visual patterns in said data associated with the contagious condition; and
analyzing said data by said computing unit to determine a probability of a specific condition;
communicating said probability to a user device; and
displaying said probability on said user device.
