## Abstract

Systems and methods in accordance with embodiments of the invention operate a controlled entity hybrid game. A controlled entity hybrid game includes a real world engine constructed to provide a randomly generated payout of real world credits from at least one wager in a gambling game, an entertainment software engine constructed to execute an entertainment game providing outcomes based upon a player's skillful execution of the entertainment game; and a game world engine constructed to manage the entertainment software engine and communicate, to the gambling game, a gameplay gambling event occurrence based upon a player's instruction of a controlled entity to consume an element of the entertainment game that triggers a wager in the gambling game, and change the element on the basis of the randomly generated payout and an entertainment game variable.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A controlled entity hybrid game, comprising:
a real world engine constructed to provide a randomly generated payout of real world credits from a wager of an amount of real credits in a gambling game;
an entertainment software engine constructed to execute an entertainment game providing outcomes based upon a player's skillful execution of the entertainment game; and
a game world engine constructed to:
manage the entertainment software engine and trigger the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game based upon a player's instruction of a controlled entity of the entertainment game and the consumption by the controlled entity of a discrete amount of an enabling element of the entertainment game that triggers the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game, the amount of real world credits based on the discrete amount of the enabling element consumed by the controlled entity; and
incrementing an amount of the enabling element on passing one or more transport tests including on a basis of the player having adequate real world credits committed to the controlled entity hybrid game to support the triggering of an additional wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game upon the controlled entity's consumption of the discrete amount of enabling element of the incremented amount of enabling element, on a basis of the randomly generated payout of real world credits by the gambling game, and on a basis of an entertainment game variable of the entertainment game.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The controlled entity hybrid game of claim 1, wherein the game world engine is further constructed to change an attribute of the enabling element on the basis of the player having adequate real world credits committed to the controlled entity hybrid game to support the triggering of the additional wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game upon the controlled entity's consumption of the discrete amount of enabling element of the incremented amount of enabling element, on a basis of the randomly generated payout of real world credits by the gambling, and on a basis of an entertainment game variable of the entertainment game.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The controlled entity hybrid game of claim 1, wherein consumption of the enabling element by the controlled entity causes an actionable element of the entertainment game to trigger the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The controlled entity hybrid game of claim 1, wherein the entertainment game variable is a change in a game world credit caused by entertainment game play.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The controlled entity hybrid game of claim 1, wherein the entertainment game variable is an entertainment game object required for consumption of the enabling element.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The controlled entity hybrid game of claim 1, wherein the entertainment game variable is an entertainment game environmental condition required for consumption of the enabling element.

### Claim 7

A method of operating a controlled entity hybrid game, the method comprising:
providing by the controlled entity hybrid game a real world engine constructed to provide a randomly generated payout of real world credits from a wager of an amount of real credits in a gambling game;
providing by the controlled entity hybrid game an entertainment software engine constructed to execute an entertainment game providing outcomes based upon a player's skillful execution of the entertainment game;
triggering by the controlled entity hybrid game the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game based upon a player's instruction of a controlled entity of the entertainment game and the consumption by the controlled entity of a discrete amount of an enabling element of the entertainment game that triggers the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game, the amount of real world credits based on the discrete amount of the enabling element consumed by the controlled entity; and
incrementing an amount of the enabling element on passing one or more transport tests including on a basis of the player having adequate real world credits committed to the controlled entity hybrid game to support the triggering of an additional wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game upon the controlled entity's consumption of the discrete amount of enabling element of the incremented amount of enabling element, on a basis of the randomly generated payout of real world credits by the gambling game, and on a basis of an entertainment game variable of the entertainment game.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method of operating a controlled entity hybrid game of claim 7, further comprising changing an attribute of the enabling element on the basis of the player having adequate real world credits committed to the controlled entity hybrid game to support the triggering of the additional wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game upon the controlled entity's consumption of the discrete amount of enabling element of the incremented amount of enabling element, on a basis of the randomly generated payout of real world credits by the gambling, and on a basis of an entertainment game variable of the entertainment game.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The method of operating a controlled entity hybrid game of claim 7, wherein consumption of the enabling element by the controlled entity causes an actionable element of the entertainment game to trigger the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The method of operating a controlled entity hybrid game of claim 7, wherein the entertainment game variable is a change in a game world credit caused by entertainment game play.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The method of operating a controlled entity hybrid game of claim 7, wherein the entertainment game variable is an entertainment game object required for consumption of the enabling element.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The method of operating a controlled entity hybrid game of claim 7, wherein the entertainment game variable is an entertainment game environmental condition required for consumption of the enabling element.

### Claim 13

A non-transitory machine-readable medium containing processor instructions, where execution of the instructions by a processor causes the processor to perform a process comprising:
providing by the controlled entity hybrid game a real world engine constructed to provide a randomly generated payout of real world credits from a wager of an amount of real credits in a gambling game;
providing by the controlled entity hybrid game an entertainment software engine constructed to execute an entertainment game providing outcomes based upon a player's skillful execution of the entertainment game;
triggering by the controlled entity hybrid game the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game based upon a player's instruction of a controlled entity of the entertainment game and the consumption by the controlled entity of a discrete amount of an enabling element of the entertainment game that triggers the wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game, the amount of real world credits based on the discrete amount of the enabling element consumed by the controlled entity; and
incrementing an amount of the enabling element on passing one or more transport tests including on a basis of the player having adequate real world credits committed to the controlled entity hybrid game to support the triggering of an additional wager of the amount of real world credits in the gambling game upon the controlled entity's consumption of the discrete amount of enabling element of the incremented amount of enabling element, on a basis of the randomly generated payout of real world credits by the gambling game, and on a basis of an entertainment game variable of the entertainment game.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)
