## Abstract

According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for providing an in-vehicle notification service by means of a head unit device comprises the steps of: requesting a mobile device to start a notification service; receiving, upon the occurrence of an event which a user is to be notified of, information on the event from the mobile device; and displaying the information on the event to the user.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A head unit device for providing an in-vehicle notification service, the head unit device comprising:
a user interface:
a communication unit for communicating with a mobile device; and
a controller configured for:
sending a request for start of a notification service to the mobile device through the communication unit;
receiving information on an event from the mobile device through the communication unit, according to occurrence of the event which becomes a target of notification; and
displaying the information on the event to a user through the user interface.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The head unit device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the event corresponds to one of call reception, call origination, a change in a call status, message reception, a change in a message status and a device status alarm.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The head unit device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured for sending a request for stop of the notification service to the mobile device through the communication unit.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The head unit device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured for:
receiving a user input according to the display of the information on the event through the communication unit; and
sending a request for an action corresponding to the user input to the mobile device through the communication unit.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The head unit device as claimed in claim 4, wherein the action corresponds to one of call ignore, call acceptance and call rejection.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The head unit device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured for sending a request for execution of an application for a connection of a media session, to the mobile device through the communication unit.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The head unit device as claimed in claim 6, wherein the controller is further configured for:
receiving voice data or image data from the mobile device during the media session through the communication unit; and
outputting the received voice data or the received image data through the user interface.

### Claim 8 (depends on 2)

The head unit device as claimed in claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured for transmitting a threshold for the device status alarm to the mobile device through the communication unit.

### Claim at position 9

9-10. (canceled)

### Claim 11

A mobile device for providing an in-vehicle notification service, the mobile device comprising:
a communication unit for communicating with a head unit device: and
a controller configured for:
receiving a request for start of a notification service from the head unit device through the communication unit; and
transmitting information on an event to the head unit device, according to occurrence of the event which becomes a target of notification through the communication unit,
wherein the event corresponds to one of call reception, call origination, a change in a call status, message reception, a change in a message status and a device status alarm.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The mobile device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the call status corresponds to one of a ringing status, a calling status, a connected status, a disconnected status and a talking status.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The mobile device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the controller is further configured for:
receiving a request for an action related to the event from the head unit device through the communication unit; and
performing the requested action and transmitting a result of performing the requested action to the head unit device.

### Claim at position 13

14-15. (canceled)

### Claim 16 (depends on 13)

The mobile device as claimed in claim 13, wherein the action corresponds to one of call ignore, call acceptance and call rejection.

### Claim 17 (depends on 11)

The mobile device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the controller is further configured for:
receiving a request for execution of an application for a connection of a media session, from the head unit device through the communication unit; and
executing the application for the connection of the media session to the head unit device.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The mobile device as claimed in claim 17, wherein the controller is further configured for transmitting voice data or image data to the head unit device during the media session through the communication unit.

### Claim 19 (depends on 11)

The mobile device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the controller is further configured for receiving a threshold for the device status alarm from the head unit device through the communication unit.

### Claim 20
