## Abstract

The invention is a method of enhancing female libido by administering an effective amount of a fenugreek extract, for example fenugreek seed extract, to a female in need of enhanced libido. The female can be a human female.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of enhancing female libido comprising administering an effective amount of a fenugreek extract to a female mammal in need thereof and thereby enhancing libido in the female.

The method of claim 1, wherein the fenugreek extract is fenugreek seed extract.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the enhancing female libido comprises modifying a behavioral characteristic indicative of an increase in female libido.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein the behavioral characteristic indicative of an increase in female libido is selected from the group consisting of increasing sexual fantasy, increasing arousal, increasing sex drive, enhancing partner relationship and increasing desire for sexual activity.

The method of claim 1, wherein the enhancing libido comprises modifying a biological response indicative of an increase in female libido.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The method of claim 5, wherein the biological response indicative of an increase in female libido is selected from the group consisting of increasing an ability to achieve orgasm, decreasing dyspareunia, and increasing vaginal lubrication or dilation.

The method of claim 5, wherein the biological response indicative of an increase in female libido is a change in the level of a sex steroid or hormone.

The method of claim 7, wherein the sex steroid or hormone is selected from the group consisting of total testosterone, free testosterone, sex hormone binding globulin, total estradiol free estradiol (E2), androstenedione, Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS), Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), and Luteinizing Hormone (LH).

The method of claim 1, wherein the effective amount of fenugreek seed extract is about 300 to about 1000 mg per day.

The method of claim 9, wherein the effective amount is administered in two equal doses.
