## Abstract

An OLED device comprises a cathode, an anode, and has therebetween a light-emitting layer wherein the light-emitting layer comprises (a) a 2-arylanthracene compound and (b) a light-emitting second anthracene compound having amino substitution at a minimum of two positions, wherein at least one amine is substituted at the 2 position of the second anthracene compound.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An OLED device comprising a cathode, an anode, and having therebetween a light-emitting layer wherein the light-emitting layer comprises:
(a) a 2-arylanthracene compound and
(b) a light-emitting second anthracene compound having amino substitution at the 2,6-positions represented by Formula [5]:
wherein:
d1, d3-d5 and d7-d8 each represent hydrogen;
substituents A9 and A10 are phenyl rings;
substituents R2 and R6 are alkyl groups comprising from 1 to 10 carbon atoms;
m and n are independently integers from 0 to 4;
substituents G9 and G10 are independently substituted or unsubstituted phenyl rings;
provided that two or more of the aforementioned substituents may be joined together to form one or more ring groups.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The OLED device of claim 1 wherein m and n are both 1; wherein the one substituent G9 is a substituted phenyl ring, having a substituent that is joined together with substituent A9 to form a ring group; and the one substituent G10 is a substituted phenyl ring having a substituent that is joined together with substituent A10 to form a ring group.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The OLED device of claim 1 wherein the 2-arylanthracene is represented by Formula [2]:
wherein:
d1 and d4-d8 are hydrogen;
R3 is hydrogen or a substituent;
substituents B9 and B10 are naphthyl groups;
substituent A2 is a phenyl ring;
p is an integer from 0 to 4;
substituent G2 is a substituted phenyl group;
provided that two or more of the aforementioned substituents may be joined together to form one or more ring groups.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The OLED device of claim 3 wherein substituents R3 and A2 are joined to form a ring group.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The OLED device of claim 4 wherein p is 1 and the one G2 has two substituents that are joined to each other to form a ring group.

### Claim 6 (depends on 3)

The OLED device of claim 3 wherein B9 and B10 are each a 2-naphthyl group.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The OLED device of claim 6 which contains an electron-transporting layer which comprises an anthracene derivative as an electron-transporting material.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The OLED device of claim 6 which contains an electron-transporting layer which comprises a mixture of an anthracene material and an organic alkali metal complex compound.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The OLED device of claim 1 wherein the 2-arylanthracene is represented by Formula [2]:
wherein:
d1 and d4-d8 are hydrogen;
R3 is hydrogen or a substituent;
substituents B2, B9 and B10 are naphthyl groups;
provided that two or more of the aforementioned substituents may be joined together to form one or more ring groups.
