## Abstract

A microwave oven having an oven chamber, a door hinged to said chamber and at least on door position switch. The switch provides a signal on door position to a central process unit of the oven. A door position switch assembly includes a switch mounted on the door and adjacent a sliding cover element that is adapted to protect the switch in an open configuration of the door and a first protruding element adapted to move the sliding cover element when the door is closed on the oven chamber in order to make the switch accessible. Additionally, a second protruding element may be included that is adapted to actuate the switch in its accessible configuration.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A microwave oven, comprising:
an oven chamber;
a door hinged to said chamber;
at least one switch, wherein the switch provides a door position signal to a central process unit configured adjacent the oven chamber;
a sliding cover element is configured adjacent the switch, wherein the sliding cover element is adapted to protect the switch in an open configuration of the door; and
a protruding element adapted to move the sliding cover element when the door is closed on the oven chamber in order to make the switch accessible.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The microwave oven according to claim 1, wherein an auxiliary protruding element is adapted to actuate the switch in an accessible configuration.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The microwave according to claim 1, wherein the protruding elements are supported by the door.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The microwave oven according to claim 3, wherein the protruding element is fin-shaped and present a curved edge adapted to cooperate with an edge of the sliding cover element.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The microwave oven according to claim 4, wherein the cover element presents an opening through which, in the closed configuration of the door, the auxiliary protruding element actuates the switch.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The microwave oven according to claim 1, wherein the switch and the sliding cover element are mounted on an L-shaped component, which is adapted to be mounted on the front portion of the oven chamber.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The microwave oven according to claim 6, wherein between the sliding cover element and the L-shaped component a spring element is interposed, which urges the sliding cover element toward a close configuration.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The microwave oven according to claim 1, further comprising: a second switch supported by the oven chamber, the second switch adapted to be driven by a rotating element, the rotating element hinged to the chamber and having a portion protruding from the chamber when the oven door is in an open configuration .

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The microwave oven according to claim 8, further comprising a third switch configured adjacent the rotating element, wherein the rotating element is adapted to drive the third switch.

### Claim 10

A microwave oven door indicating assembly, comprising:
an oven chamber;
a door hinged to said chamber;
an L-shaped component configured to be mounted on a front portion of the oven chamber;
at least one switch attached to the L-shaped component, wherein the switch provides a door position signal to a central process unit configured adjacent the oven chamber;
a sliding cover element configured adjacent the switch, wherein the sliding cover element is adapted to protect the switch in an open configuration of the door; and
a protruding element adapted to move the sliding cover element when the door is closed on the oven chamber in order to make the switch accessible.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The microwave oven door indicating assembly according to claim 10, wherein the protruding elements are supported by the door.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The microwave oven door indicating assembly according to claim 10, wherein the protruding element is fin-shaped having a curved edge adapted to cooperate with an edge of the sliding cover element.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)

The microwave oven door indicating assembly according to claim 10, wherein the cover element includes an opening through which, in a closed configuration of the door, the auxiliary protruding element actuates the switch.

### Claim 14 (depends on 10)

The microwave oven according to claim 10, wherein the sliding cover element are mounted on an L-shaped component.

### Claim 15 (depends on 10)

The microwave oven according to claim 10, wherein the sliding cover element are mounted on an L-shaped component

### Claim 16 (depends on 10)

The microwave oven according to claim 10, wherein between the sliding cover element and the L-shaped component a spring element is interposed, which urges the sliding cover element toward a close configuration.

### Claim 17 (depends on 10)

The microwave oven according to claim 10, further comprising: a second switch supported by the oven chamber, the second switch adapted to be driven by a rotating element, the rotating element hinged to the chamber and having a portion protruding from the chamber when the oven door is in an open configuration.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The microwave oven according to claim 17, further comprising: a third switch configured adjacent the rotating element, wherein the rotating element is adapted to drive the third switch.
