## Abstract

A tubular cable fitting which is capable of providing strain relief for Tubular Electric Cables (“TEC”) and is designed to protect end fittings from loss of circuit continuity. The TEC end fittings may be of fiber optic or electric type service.

## Claims

### Claim 1

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The strain relief assembly of claim 2, wherein the internal guides are arranged to direct the wire, cable, or tubular control line to follow a bent path through the hollow tubular insulating jacket.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The strain relief assembly of claim 2, wherein the internal guides are arranged to direct the wire, cable, or tubular control line to follow a twisted path through the hollow tubular insulating jacket.

### Claim 5 (depends on 2)

The strain relief assembly of claim 2, wherein the internal guides are arranged to direct the wire, cable, or tubular control line to follow an axially curved configuration through the hollow tubular insulating jacket.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The strain relief assembly of claim 1, wherein the wire, cable, or tubular control line has at least one end portion, and wherein the strain relief assembly is arranged to provide strain relief to the at least one end portion of the wire, cable, or tubular control line.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The strain relief assembly of claim 1, wherein a bent, twisted, or axially curved configuration within the hollow tubular insulating jacket is arranged to lock and secure the inner wire, cable, or tubular control line to the tubular insulating jacket at the end portion of the wire, cable, or tubular control line.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The strain relief assembly of claim 1, wherein the internal structural support is arranged to prevent torsional, transverse, or tensional forces from being transferred to the end portion of the wire, cable, or tubular control line.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The strain relief assembly of claim 8, wherein the internal structural support is arranged to induce frictional locking forces between the internal structure and the wire, cable, or tubular control line and the hollow tubular insulating jacket.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The strain relief assembly of claim 8, wherein the internal structural support is arranged to prevent damage occurring to the end portion of the wire, cable, or tubular control line from torsional, transverse, or tensional forces.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The strain relief assembly of claim 1, wherein the wire, cable, or tubular control line is a down-hole tubular control line.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The strain relief assembly of claim 7, wherein the down-hole tubular control line comprises:
a splice;
wherein the strain relief assembly comprises an integral or adapted part of the splice.

### Claim 13 (depends on 7)

The strain relief assembly of claim 7, wherein the down-hole tubular control line comprises:
a branch or a splitter; and
where the strain relief assembly comprises an integral or adapted part of the branch or splitter.

### Claim 14

A strain relief assembly for protecting one or more wires, cables, or tubular control lines, comprising:
an elongated hollow tubular insulating member having a receiving aperture located at a first end thereof and an end fitting aperture located at a second end thereof, the tubular insulating member having an internal structural support for a portion of a wire, cable, or tubular control line extending through the receiving aperture at the first end of the tubular insulating member and into the end fitting aperture at the second end of the tubular insulating member;
wherein the internal structural support is arranged and configured to receive a wire, cable, or tubular control line therein in a nonlinear configuration to prevent torsional, transverse, or tensional forces from being transferred from the wire, cable, or tubular control line outside the strain relief assembly to the portion of a wire, cable, or tubular control line at the end fitting aperture at the second end of the tubular insulating member.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The strain relief assembly of claim 14, wherein the internal structural support of the tubular insulating member comprises:
at least one opening in the tubular insulating member to facilitate the arrangement of the portion of the wire, cable, or tubular control line received therein in the nonlinear configuration in the internal structural support.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The strain relief assembly of claim 15, wherein the internal structural support of the tubular insulating member comprises:
a pair of longitudinally extending slots in the tubular insulating member on opposite sides thereof which are open to the hollow interior of the tubular insulating member to facilitate an arrangement of the portion of the wire, cable, or tubular control line extending between the receiving aperture at the first end of the tubular insulating member and the end fitting aperture at the second end of the tubular insulating member in a bent path through the hollow tubular insulating jacket.

### Claim 17 (depends on 15)
