## Abstract

A solar shield can include a body and at least one fastening feature. The body can have a length and a width, where each of the length and the width is at least large enough to cover a top surface of at least one of a number of PV solar panels. The at least one fastening feature can be mechanically coupled to the body. The at least one fastening feature, when enabled, secures the body to the top surface of the at least one of the plurality of PV solar panels. The body can be rigid or flexible. The at least one fastening feature can be, at least, a clip, a clamp, or a strap.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A solar shield, comprising:
a body having a length and a width, wherein each of the length and the width is at least large enough to cover a top surface of at least one of a plurality of PV solar panels; and
at least one fastening feature mechanically coupled to the body, wherein the at least one fastening feature, when engaged, secures the body to the top surface of the at least one of the plurality of PV solar panels.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The solar shield of claim 1, wherein the body is rigid.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The solar shield of claim 2, wherein the at least one fastening feature comprises a protrusion from an outer edge of at least one side of the body.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The solar shield of claim 3, wherein the protrusion is a clip that mechanically couples to a portion of a frame, wherein the at least one of the PV solar panels is mechanically coupled to the frame.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The solar shield of claim 4, wherein the clip is hingedly coupled to the body, wherein the clip is mechanically coupled to the frame when the clip is in an engaged position, and wherein the clip is mechanically decoupled from the frame when the clip is in a disengaged position.

### Claim 6 (depends on 2)

The solar shield of claim 2, wherein the body comprises a plurality of panels that are extendably coupled to each other and alter at least one selected from a group consisting of the length and the width.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The solar shield of claim 1, wherein the body is flexible.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The solar shield of claim 7, wherein the at least one fastening feature comprises a strap that is mechanically coupled to at least one portion of the body.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The solar shield of claim 8, wherein the strap is flexible and stretchable, and wherein the strap wraps around at least a portion of a bottom surface of the at least one of the PV solar panels.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The solar shield of claim 8, wherein the strap is flexible and includes a coupling feature that mechanically couples a portion of the strap to a different portion of the body.

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

The solar shield of claim 8, wherein the strap is flexible and includes a coupling feature that mechanically couples a portion of the strap to a different portion of the strap.

### Claim 12 (depends on 8)

The solar shield of claim 8, wherein the strap is flexible and includes a coupling feature that mechanically couples a portion of the strap to an additional strap.

### Claim 13 (depends on 7)

The solar shield of claim 7, wherein the body comprises a channel disposed around at least a portion of an outer perimeter of the body, wherein a securing device traverses the channel.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The solar shield of claim 13, wherein the securing device is elastic and has, in an unstretched state, a first perimeter that is less than a second perimeter of the at least one of the PV solar panels.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

The solar shield of claim 13, wherein the securing device is a rope with at least one end exposed, wherein the outer perimeter of the body, when the at least one end of the rope is pulled, wraps around to a back surface of the at least one of the PV solar panels.

### Claim 16 (depends on 7)

The solar shield of claim 7, wherein the body stretches to alter at least one selected from a group consisting of the length and the width.

### Claim 17 (depends on 1)

The solar shield of claim 1, wherein the body comprises a graphic on a side of the body that faces away from the top surface of the at least one of the plurality of PV solar panels.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The solar shield of claim 17, wherein the graphic comprises a logo.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The solar shield of claim 17, wherein the graphic comprises text.

### Claim 20 (depends on 1)

The solar shield of claim 1, wherein the body is opaque.
