Abstract
A method and electronic device for presenting a speed-dial contact on a display of the electronic device by rendering a photo associated with the contact on a keypad to enable speed-dial selection of the contact.
Claims28
A method for providing an interface for speed-dialling a contact on an electronic device, comprising:
- for each key of a keypad of the electronic device:
- if a contact is associated with the key, rendering a photo associated with the contact on a display of the electronic device to enable speed-dial selection of the contact;
- and
- in response to selection of a key of the keypad:
- dialling the contact associated with the selected key if the selected key is released before a designated period of time, and
- generating a prompt for a user to select a speed-dial contact to be associated with the selected key if the selected key is not released before the designated period of time.

- a display:
- at least one processor configured for presenting an interface for speed-dialling contacts on the display by:
- for each key of a keypad:
- if a contact is associated with the key, rendering a photo associated with the contact on the display a to enable speed-dial selection of the contact;

- dialling the contact associated with the selected key if the selected key is released before a designated period of time, and
