Abstract
A material having a first surface and a second surface is disclosed. The first or second surface comprises a texture. The texture is defined by peaks and valleys such that the textured surface may have an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of about 3 mm to about 16 mm, an Average Height Differential of at least 1 mm, and a Surface Topography Index from about 0.1 to about 5. The material may comprise a surfactant.
Claims30
A macroscopically three-dimensional material comprising:
- a first surface;
- and
- a second surface;
- wherein one of the first and second surfaces comprises a macroscopic three-dimensional texture;
- wherein the macroscopic three-dimensional texture comprises peaks and valleys such that the textured surface has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of about 3 mm to about 16 mm;
- an Average Height Differential of at least 1 mm;
- and
- a Surface Topography Index from about 0.1 to about 5;
- and
- wherein the material comprises a surfactant.
A hydroentangled, nonwoven material comprising:
- a first surface;
- and
- a second surface;
- wherein one of the surfaces comprises a three-dimensional texture;
- wherein the three-dimensional texture is defined by peaks and valleys such that the textured surface has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of about 1 mm to about 20 mm;
- a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.01 to about 5;
- and
- an Average Height Differential in the range of about 0.5 mm to about 6 m;
- and
- wherein the material comprises a surfactant and polyester.
A nonwoven material comprising:
- two substrates;
- wherein the two substrates are hydroentangled with each other;
- wherein the material comprises a first surface and a second surface;
- wherein one of the surfaces comprises a texture;
- wherein the texture has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of about 3 mm to about 16 mm;
- a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.1 to about 5;
- and
- an Average Height Differential of at least 1 mm;
- and
- wherein the material comprises a surfactant.
A nonwoven material comprising:
- two substrates;
- wherein the two substrates are joined with each other;
- wherein the material comprises a first surface and a second surface;
- wherein one of the surfaces comprises a three-dimensional texture;
- wherein the three-dimensional texture has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of about 3 mm to about 16 mm;
- a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.2 to about 3;
- and
- an Average Height Differential of at least 1 mm;
- and
- wherein the material comprises a surfactant;
- wherein one of the substrates comprises polyester fibers and the other of the substrates comprises polypropylene fibers;
- and
- wherein the material has a CD Elongation value of at least 15%.
