Abstract
An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier having an electrostatic latent image that is formed on the image carrier and that is developed into a toner image, an intermediate transfer belt to which the toner image on the image carrier is transferred, and a second transfer belt that transfers the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt to a transfer member via a second transfer section. The intermediate transfer belt and the second transfer belt are made of a thermoplastic resin. The hardness of the second transfer belt is set to be equal to or larger than that of the intermediate transfer belt. The contact angle of a pure water droplet on a surface of the second transfer belt is set to be larger than that on a surface of the intermediate transfer belt.
Claims9
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- an image carrier having an electrostatic latent image that is formed on the image carrier and that is developed into a visible toner image;
- an intermediate transfer belt to which the toner image on the image carrier is transferred;
- and
- a second transfer belt that transfers the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt to a transfer member via a second transfer section,
- wherein the intermediate transfer belt and the second transfer belt are made of a thermoplastic resin,
- a hardness of the second transfer belt is set to be equal to or larger than that of the intermediate transfer belt, and
- a contact angle of a pure water droplet on a surface of the second transfer belt is set to be larger than that on a surface of the intermediate transfer belt.
