Abstract
A magnetic recording medium includes a substrate and a magnetic recording layer formed on the substrate. The magnetic recording layer includes a recording region on which a magnetic material is formed as a bit pattern, and a spacing layer which fills a peripheral area of the recording region with a non-magnetic material with relatively higher thermal conductivity than that of the magnetic material.
Claims15
A magnetic recording medium having a substrate and a magnetic recording layer formed on the substrate, wherein the magnetic recording layer includes a recording region on which a magnetic material is formed as a bit pattern and a spacing layer which fills a peripheral area of the recording region with a first non-magnetic material with relatively higher thermal conductivity than the thermal conductivity of the magnetic material.
A magnetic recording medium having a substrate and a magnetic recording layer formed on the substrate, wherein the magnetic recording layer includes a recording region on which a magnetic material is formed as a bit pattern, a spacing layer which fills a peripheral area of the recording region with a first non-magnetic material, and a thin film interposed between the recording region and the spacing layer, and formed of a second non-magnetic material with relatively lower thermal conductivity than the thermal conductivity of the spacing layer.
A magnetic storage device including a unit for generating near field light and a magnetic recording medium which carries out a recording operation using light from the unit for generating near field light, wherein the magnetic recording medium includes a magnetic recording layer having a recording region on which a magnetic material is formed as a bit pattern and a spacing layer which fills a peripheral area of the recording region with a first non-magnetic material with relatively higher thermal conductivity than the thermal conductivity of the magnetic material.
