Abstract
A silicone resin is provided. The silicone resin may be effectively used to encapsulate a semiconductor element, for example, a light-emitting element of a light-emitting diode.
Claims18
A silicone resin that is represented by an average composition formula of Formula 1 and that comprises a siloxane unit of Formula 2 and a siloxane unit of Formula 3:
- (R3SiO1/2)a(R2SiO2/2)b(RSiO3/2)C(SiO4/2)d [Formula 1]
- R1R2SiO2/2 [Formula 2]
- R3SiO3/2 [Formula 3]
- wherein R's are substituents directly bound to a silicon atom, and each independently represents hydrogen, an alkoxy group, a hydroxy group, an epoxy group, a (meth)acryloyl group, an isocyanate group or a monovalent hydrocarbon group;
- R1 and R2 each independently represent an alkyl group and an aryl group, R3 represents an aryl group, a is in a range of 0≦a≦0.5, b is in a range of 0<b≦0.8, c is in a range of 0<c≦0.8, and d is in a range of 0≦d≦0.2, with the proviso that a+b+c+d is 1, and at least one of R1 and R2 represents an aryl group.
