Automatic identification of a tool

A method for use with a portion of a body of a subject comprising:

• acquiring at least one image of the portion of the subject's body;
• displaying, on a display, the at least one acquired image;
• and
• using at least one processor:
• in response to receiving an input from a user that is indicative of a given location within the image of the portion of the subject's body, generating an indication on the image of a region within the portion of the subject's body;
• in response to receiving a further input from the user, modifying a dimension of the region that is indicated within the image;
• in response thereto, performing an identification selected from the group consisting of:
• identification of at least one tool that is suitable for being placed at the region, and identification of a dimension of at least one tool that is suitable for being placed at the region;
• and
• generating an output is response to the identification.

Apparatus for use with a portion of a body of a subject, comprising:

• an image-acquisition device configured to acquire at least one image of the portion of the subject's body;
• a display configured to display the at least one acquired image;
• and
• at least one processor configured:
• in response to receiving an input from a user that is indicative of a given location within the image of the portion of the subject's body, to generate an indication on the image of a region within the portion of the subject's body,
• in response to receiving a further input from the user, to modify a dimension of the region that is indicated within the image;
• in response thereto, to performing an identification selected from the group consisting of:
• identification of at least one tool that is suitable for being placed at the region, and identification of a dimension of at least one tool that is suitable for being placed at the region;
• and
• to generate an output is response to the identification.
