Abstract
An image forming apparatus is provided. Sheets, a plurality of which form a set, are contained in each of containers, and sheets are fed from the corresponding containers. If a first sheet to be fed is in the same layer as a second sheet that was fed from the containers last time, the first sheet is fed from a set that included the second sheet in the containers is fed. If the layer of the first sheet is higher than the layer of the second sheet that was fed from the containers last time, all remaining sheets in the set that included the second sheet are discharged from the containers.
Claims12
A control apparatus controlling a first container unit configured to contain at least a first set of sheets and a second container unit configured to contain at least a second set of sheets and a third set of sheets, the control apparatus comprising:
- a feed control unit configured to perform control to feed a sheet from the first set in the first container unit, then a sheet from the second set in the second container unit, again a sheet from the first set in the first container unit, and then a sheet from the third set in the second container unit;
- and
- a discharge control unit for perform control to feed at least one remaining sheet of the second set in the second container unit to output the remaining sheet to a destination different from a destination to which the sheet fed from the second set by the feed control unit is output, after the sheet is fed again from the first set in the first container unit and before the sheet is fed from the third set in the second container unit.
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a first container unit configured to contain a set of sheets;
- a second container unit configured to contain a set of sheets;
- a feed control unit perform control to feed, if a first sheet to be fed is in the same layer as a second sheet that was fed from the first and second container units last time, the first sheet from one of the first and second container unit that has contained the second sheet, and perform control to feed, if a first sheet to be fed is in the different layer from a second sheet that was fed from the first and second container units last time, the first sheet from one of the first and second container unit different from one of the first and second container unit that has contained the second sheet;
- and
- a discharge control unit configured to perform control to feed, if the layer of a first sheet to be fed is higher than the layer of a second sheet that was fed from the first and second container units last time, at least one remaining sheet of the set that included the second sheet from one of the first and second container unit to output the remaining sheet to a destination different from a destination to which the second sheet is output, after the first sheet is fed from one of the first and second container unit.
A control method for controlling a first container unit configured to contain at least a first set of sheets and a second container unit configured to contain at least a second set of sheets and a third set of sheets, the control method comprising:
- feeding a first sheet from the first set in the first container unit;
- feeding a second sheet from the second set in the second container unit;
- feeding a third sheet from the first set in the first container unit;
- feeding at least one remaining sheet of the second set in the second container unit to output the remaining sheet to a destination different from a destination to which the second sheets is output, after feeding the third sheet from the first set in the first container unit;
- and
- feeding forth sheet from the third set in the first container unit after feeding the remaining sheet of the second set in the second container unit.
A control method controlling a first container unit configured to contain a set of sheets and a second container unit configured to contain a set of sheets, the control method comprising:
- feeding, if a first sheet to be fed is in the same layer as a second sheet that was fed from the first and second container units last time, the first sheet from one of the first and second container unit that has contained the second sheet;
- feeding, if a first sheet to be fed is in the different layer from a second sheet that was fed from the first and second container units last time, the first sheet from one of the first and second container unit different from one of the first and second container unit that has contained the second sheet;
- and
- feeding, if the layer of a first sheet to be fed is higher than the layer of a second sheet that was fed from the first and second container units last time, at least one remaining sheet of the set that included the second sheet from one of the first and second container unit to output the remaining sheet to a destination different from a destination to which the second sheet is output, after feeding the first sheet from one of the first and second container unit.
