Abstract
A clip includes a pair of holding members arranged oppositely to one another to be capable of holding an elastic body therebetween, a base member, to which end portions of one side of the pair of holding members are coupled and at least one of the holding members is pivotably coupled, set on an object to be fixed, and pressing members provided on the holding members for pressing/retaining the elastic member between the pair of holding members.
Claims20
A clip comprising:
- a pair of holding members arranged oppositely to each other to be capable of holding an elastic body therebetween;
- a base member, to which end portions of one side of the pair of holding members are coupled, being set on an object to be fixed;
- at least one of the holding members being pivotably coupled to the base member, and
- pressing members provided on the holding members for retaining the elastic body between the pair of holding members.
An elastic body attachment component, comprising:
- an elastic body;
- and
- a clip holding the elastic body, wherein
- the clip further comprising:
- a pair of holding members arranged oppositely to each other to be capable of holding the elastic body therebetween,
- a base member, to which end portions of one side of the pair of holding members are coupled, at least one of the holding members being pivotably coupled to the base member, the base member set on an object to be fixed, and
- pressing members provided on the holding members for retaining the elastic body between the pair of holding members.
A motor vehicle pillar subassembly, comprising:
- a motor vehicle pillar including an inner panel and an outer panel defining respective end portions,
- the end portions being bonded together so that the inner and outer panels define an internal space,
- an elastic body attachment component disposed in the internal space and being attached to one of the panels,
- the elastic body attachment component including an elastic body and a clip holding the elastic body,
- the clip defines a pair of holding members arranged oppositely to one another to be capable of holding the elastic body therebetween,
- the clip further defines a base member to which end portions of one side of the pair of holding members are coupled,
- at least one of the holding members being pivotably coupled to the base member,
- the base member being set on said one of said panels, and wherein
- the clip further defines pressing members disposed on the holding members for retaining the elastic body between the pair of holding members.
A method of assembling a clip subassembly, comprising:
- inserting a component between a pair of holding members defined by the clip while pivoting one holding member away from the other holding member about one end of a base member defined by the clip and joining the holding members,
- inserting a fitting pawl formed on the other holding member into a through-hole formed in the component towards the pivoted holding member, and
- pivoting the pivoted holding member towards the other holding member so that the fitting pawl engages a fitted receiving portion defined by the pivoted holding member, to thereby retain the component between the holding members.
