Abstract
A method for weighing masses on a conveyor system (18) on which the masses to be weighed are advanced in horizontal direction and which includes a conveyor section (24) that is limp in a vertical bending direction, including the steps of continuously measuring the weight force that acts upon the limp conveyor section (24) while the masses are advanced on this conveyor section, recording a force/displacement function that indicates the weight force as a function of the distance traveled by the conveyor system (18), and calculating the mass flow rate of the conveyor system by evaluating the force/displacement function.
Claims11
A method for weighing masses on a conveyor system on which the masses to be weighed are advanced in a horizontal direction and in which the conveyor system includes a conveyor section that is limp in a vertical bending direction, comprising the steps of:
- continuously measuring a weight force that acts upon the limp conveyor section while the masses are advanced on this conveyor section,
- recording a force/displacement function that indicates the weight force as a function of a distance traveled by the conveyor system, and
- calculating a mass flow rate of the conveyor system by evaluating the force/displacement function.
A method of operating a processing line that comprises a conveyor system and at least one processing station for processing products that are supplied on the conveyor system, comprising the steps of:
- continuously measuring a mass flow rate of the products advanced on the conveyor system,
- feedback-controlling one of the speed of the conveyor system and the speed of at least one loading device for loading the products onto the conveyor system in accordance with the measured mass flow rate.
A device for weighing masses on a conveyor system on which the masses to be weighed are advanced in a horizontal direction and that includes a conveyor section that is limp in a vertical bending direction, comprising:
- a force measuring device that supports the limp conveyor section from below, and
- an electronic processing device for recording a force/displacement function that indicates a measured weight force as a function of a distance traveled by the conveyor system, and for calculating a mass flow rate of the conveyor system by evaluating a force/displacement function that indicates the weight force as a function of a distance traveled by the conveyor system.
