Charge control resin and manufacturing method of the same

A charge control agent characterized by that it contains as an active ingredient either a styrene derivative represented by following Formula (3) or a charge control resin which is a polymerization product of the styrene derivative:

• in the Formula (3), R1 is independent of one another, and is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a carboxy-containing group, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, or a straight-chained or branched alkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms;
• R2 is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a carboxy-containing group, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, or a straight-chained or branched alkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms;
• g is a number of 1-3;
• h is a number of 1-3;
• and M is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, an ammonium radical or a mixture of any of these.

A method of using a charge control resin comprising:

• using the charge control resin containing as an active ingredient a polymer having a constituent unit represented by following Formula (1):
• in the Formula (1), R1 is independent of one another, and is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a carboxy-containing group, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, or a straight-chained or branched alkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms;
• R2 is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a carboxy-containing group, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, or a straight-chained or branched alkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms;
• g is a number of 1-3;
• h is a number of 1-3;
• and M is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, an ammonium radical or a mixture of any of these.

A method for manufacturing a charge control resin comprising:

• a step for obtaining a polymer in a reaction system involving as a monomer at least a styrene derivative represented by following Formula (3), the monomer is polymerized to be included in the thus obtained charge control resin as an active ingredient:
• in the Formula (3), R1 is independent of one another, and is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a carboxy-containing group, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, or a straight-chained or branched alkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms;
• R2 is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a carboxy-containing group, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, or a straight-chained or branched alkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms;
• g is a number of 1-3;
• h is a number of 1-3;
• and M is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, a straight-chained or branched alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, an ammonium radical or a mixture of any of these.
